Fun for all at Trinity
At Trinity Apartments we run a number of events throughout the year for residents and undertake a number of charity events involving our residents and the wider community.
Macmillan Coffee Morning 2020
On Tuesday 29 September, Trinity Apartments took part in ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Cancer’, residents enjoyed 2 trolleys of homemade cakes and sandwiches delivered to individual apartments, a total of £250 was raised. Did you know that £147 could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for a Day, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support. Many of our residents have personal experiences of being supported by Macmillan Cancer Support and though a very unusual year – everyone at Trinity Apartments did their bit to help. A huge thank you to everyone!
VE Day Car Park Concert – 8th May 2020
We had planned a huge celebration to mark the 70th Anniversary of VE day, all our residents, staff and family were involved. However due to the circumstances we had to make alternative arrangements and came up with a car park concert. From the safety of their balconies, residents enjoyed listening to a medley of war time classics sung by our guest vocalist Becky Marsden and a beautifully presented picnic lunch was delivered to all residents by our caterers – Caterplus, the day turned out to be a lovely sunny day, bringing cheer to everyone!
Happy Hampers – 2nd July 2020
Nearly 3 months into lockdown, the feeling of isolation and loneliness began to set in, we wanted our residents to know that we were thinking of them and missed them. We thought it would be lovely idea to put together a hamper for each of our residents. With the help of our social fund manager, we delivered a luxury hamper of drink, chocolates, biscuits and a few other things to each apartment, the hampers were well received and enjoyed by everyone.
Thank you from Trinity Apartments
Throughout these difficult times we have been very fortunate to have received an overwhelming amount of support from local charities, a very special thank you to;
- The Solihull Christian Fellowship in partnership with Foodshare for food donations
- Islamic Relief for food donations and essential supplies to a resident who had no access to their money
- The Shirley Baptist Church for food donations and a regular delivery of homemade cake for staff
Post Lockdown Events
We have been working very closely with Jo Marsden- Community Engagement Support Worker from our in-house care provider The Longhurst Group to come up with small group activities that are of benefit to our residents. Working within covid-19 safety guidelines, we have held knit and natter sessions, craft activities and plan to do much, much more. We have already started making plans for Christmas and aim to make the festive period as enjoyable as possible.
