Housing updates – Summer 2025
Net-zero target improvements
Energy Improvement works at our Danzey Green Road properties have been completed by Broadoak Group.

In total, over £100,000 worth of energy improvement works were carried out under the OFGEM ECO 4 Government Grant.
This essential work has improved the energy efficiency of these properties to an A Rating, surpassing the government standards for all social housing properties.
Jacqeline D’Amico, Registered Service Manager, commented, “The professionalism of the contractors was great. They were courteous and patient, which is difficult in a service which houses and cares for adults with learning disabilities.”

Jason Bostock, who manages the properties on behalf of SCHA, visited the site and met with Jacqeline and a representative from Broadoak Group after the completion of the work.
He was satisfied that the improvements were made to a high standard, with minimal disruption to the daily operations of the service for both staff and residents.
Broadoak Group is eager to collaborate with SCHA on any potential new energy improvement projects across our portfolio in the future.
Fire door inspection checks

We have completed our fire door surveys as part of our planned maintenance programme. We are currently exploring options to ensure we get the best value for money regarding our upcoming fire door works.
As part of this effort, we are seeking an additional quote from a contractor who may also assist with our future stock condition survey work. This will enable us to compare costs and ensure we achieve the best value. We will keep residents informed as we progress.
New service contracts for the cleaning of communal areas and grounds maintenance
We’ve recently reviewed the above contracts at the end of the first year. Having received positive feedback from residents regarding both services, we are pleased to announce that we will continue working with the current contractors for these services.
We value residents’ thoughts on our communal cleaning and grounds maintenance, and we use the feedback to improve our services. If you have any concerns, or would like to make a comment, please speak to a member of staff or take a look at our compliments, comments and complaints information.
