Phoenix House was developed through a successful and trusted partnership between Solihull Care Housing Association (SCHA) and Solihull Council (SMBC).
Opened in September 2009, is a modern purpose-built development comprising 49 affordable extra care self-contained apartments, designed to enable residents to live well and retain their independence within a supporting and enabling environment. Of the 49 apartments, there are forty-one 1 bedroom and two 2 bedroom apartments for rent. In addition, there are two one bed and four 2 bedroom shared ownership apartments.
Offering a real alternative to residential care, Phoenix House will appeal to people who wish to retain their independence, with a friendly and supportive community on the doorstep.
Our apartments have good sized rooms,are centrally heated and decorated to a high standard for your comfort. Each apartment comprises a lounge, kitchen, bedroom(s) and a bathroom fitted with a level entry shower and handrails.
All apartments and communal facilities are wheelchair friendly and fitted with a 24 hour emergency alarm system, for your peace of mind.
Most apartments have their own private outside space. Apartments on the ground floor have a patio area and those above ground floor have a balcony. Many of our residents enjoy feeding wild birds, growing beautiful plants or simply watching the world go by from their outside space. We also have communal gardens that are well maintained by a professional gardening service.
Our catering partner provides a daily 3 course lunch in our dining rooms, for residents to socialise and enjoy a meal with friends.
Our vibrant community of neighbours and friends offers a wide range of activities and social gatherings and residents are welcome to make use of our communal lounges for visits by family and friends.
